[Remote] Accounts Receivable Accountant

The Digital Dept. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Billing Accountant to join their Accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing client invoicing, maintaining billing records, supporting payment application processes, and ensuring compliance with complex client invoicing requirements and contracts.ResponsibilitiesManage and prioritize a high-volume Accounting Inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of inquiriesGenerate, review, and distribute client invoices in accordance with contractual terms and client-specific billing requirementsInterpret and follow complex invoicing instructions, including purchase order requirements, portal submissions, payment routing instructions, and client-specific processesMaintain accurate client billing information and ensure records are updated promptly across internal systemsReview campaign documentation, contracts, and supporting records to verify invoice accuracy and completenessEnter and maintain invoicing and payment procedure information within company systems, including NetSuite and QuickbaseSubmit invoices through various client payment portals and ensure compliance with submission requirementsMonitor invoice status and assist with payment tracking and payment application processesResearch and resolve billing discrepancies, invoice rejections, and payment issues in a timely mannerIssue credit memos and invoice revisions when necessaryPartner closely with the Collections team to support collection efforts and resolve outstanding balancesCommunicate professionally with clients regarding billing inquiries, invoice submissions, payment status, and account-related questionsCollaborate with Campaign Teams, Talent Managers, Talent Coordinators, and Operations teams to resolve billing-related issuesIdentify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to strengthen billing accuracy, operational efficiency, and cash flowAssist with special projects, reporting, audits, and process documentation as assignedSkillsMinimum of 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable, Billing, or related accounting experience requiredStrong understanding of accounts receivable processes, invoice management, and payment applicationsExceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to independently research issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutionsDemonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a remote environmentComfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities and processesProfessional, proactive, and customer-service oriented approach when working with clients and internal team membersExperience working with complex client billing requirements and invoicing procedures preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience with NetSuite, Quickbase, Coupa, Stipe, and client payment portals is highly preferredCurious and eager to learn new processes and systemsStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to identify trends, anticipate issues, and proactively recommend solutionsComfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth environmentExperience supporting operations within marketing, media, talent management, advertising, or agency environments is a plusCompany OverviewThe Digital Dept. is an influencer marketing agency connecting brands with digital creators to boost online presence.
