[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

StevenDouglas is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for processing vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements while ensuring compliance with company policies. This remote role requires the candidate to live within one hour of Austin, Texas, and involves maintaining vendor records, reconciling accounts, and supporting the month-end close process.ResponsibilitiesReview, verify, and process vendor bills for paymentMatch bills to purchase orders and receiving documentationEnsure bills are properly coded and approved in accordance with company policiesResolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues with vendors and internal departmentsEstablish and maintain vendor recordsCollect and maintain required vendor documentation, including W-9 formsRespond to vendor inquiries and resolve account discrepanciesReconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balancesReview employee expense reports for compliance with company travel and expense policiesProcess approved reimbursements in a timely mannerCommunicate with employees regarding missing documentation or policy exceptionsAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesPrepare AP aging reports and other financial reports as requestedSupport internal and external audits by providing documentationMaintain organized electronic and physical AP recordsEnsure compliance with company policies and accounting proceduresIdentify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiencyAssist with special projects and other accounting duties as assignedSkills5+ years of experience in accountingStrong analytical and reconciliation skillsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial systemsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar) preferredCompany OverviewStevenDouglas, one of the boutique Search and Interim Resources firms.
