[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

They are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports while ensuring compliance and supporting the efficiency of the Accounting team.ResponsibilitiesProcess vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting systemPerform three-way match (PO, receipt, invoice) where applicablePrepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire transfersMonitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve invoice/payment discrepanciesReview and Approve Expense ReportsReconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries promptly and professionallyReview and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policyAssist with month-end close by preparing accruals and reconciliations related to APMaintain vendor files, including setup and updates in the accounting systemSupport audits by providing documentation and responding to requestsSkillsAssociate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience2+ years of experience in Accounts PayableHands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint Accounts Payable moduleExperience with Deltek Costpoint Expense module (processing and reviewing expense reports)Strong knowledge of AP processes, including invoice processing, three-way match, and payment methodsHigh attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial dataStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Effective communication skills to interact with vendors, employees, and internal departmentsBackground in government contracting and understanding of compliance requirementsExperience with audits and preparing supporting documentationFamiliarity with ACH, wire, and international vendor paymentsCompany OverviewAgile Defense is an information technology company located in Reston.
