Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our client's Accounting team in Danville, Illinois. This position plays a critical role in supporting revenue cycle operations by managing government payer portal access, assisting with electronic remittance enrollment, and maintaining accurate financial records.ResponsibilitiesClassify, record, and reconcile financial transactions while maintaining accurate accounting recordsPrepare invoices, account statements, and financial documentation in accordance with company policiesProcess debits, credits, and account adjustments using accounting systems and spreadsheetsMaintain accurate financial data within accounting software and Microsoft ExcelAssist with reconciliation activities and support month-end accounting processesEnsure compliance with company accounting policies and governmental regulationsSupport the Governmental WebPortal Team by maintaining user accounts and credentials across multiple state and federal payer portalsAssist with portal administration, security access, user audits, and ongoing account maintenanceCoordinate onboarding and registration of new payer portals while ensuring compliance with governmental security standardsTroubleshoot portal access issues and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to resolve account-related concernsPartner with the Cash Application Analyst to obtain missing or delayed Remittance Advices (RAs) from commercial and governmental payersSupport timely cash posting by minimizing remittance delays and posting backlogsAssist with identifying and resolving payment discrepancies affecting cash applicationCommunicate with payer representatives to resolve remittance delivery issuesAssist in transitioning payer remittance processes from paper and PDF formats to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)Coordinate payer enrollment activities for HIPAA 835 and NCPDP 835 electronic remittance transactionsWork closely with payer provider relations to troubleshoot enrollment and electronic transmission issuesSupport initiatives that improve automation, efficiency, and overall revenue cycle performanceBuild strong working relationships with internal Accounts Receivable teams, Revenue Cycle leadership, IT, and external payer organizationsCommunicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issuesIdentify opportunities to improve workflows, eliminate manual processes, and enhance operational efficiencyMaintain confidentiality while handling Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulationsSkillsHigh school diploma or GED required0–2 years of accounting, accounts receivable, revenue cycle, or healthcare financial operations experienceStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities while working independentlyProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookComfortable learning new financial systems and web-based applicationsAssociate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferredExperience supporting healthcare Accounts Receivable or Revenue Cycle operationsKnowledge of medical remittance processing and cash applicationFamiliarity with HIPAA regulations and handling Protected Health Information (PHI)Experience working with government payer portals such as Medicare or MedicaidUnderstanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), including HIPAA 835 or NCPDP 835 transactionsExperience troubleshooting payer enrollment or electronic remittance issuesKnowledge of accounting software or ERP systemsBenefitsAccess to Healthcare & Dental Insurance Plan of Choice *(details available upon request)*Company OverviewChamberlain is a talent acquisition firm for organizations that seek human capital differentiation.
