[Remote] Accounting Manager (US - Remote)

Fanatics is building a leading global digital sports platform, and they are seeking an Accounting Manager to handle close operations and financial reporting for their Betting & Gaming division. This role involves managing joint venture accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate financials across multiple entities.ResponsibilitiesReview journal entries prepared by the Staff Accountant for accuracy, completeness, and proper support prior to postingOwn joint venture and non-controlling interest accounting, including NCI allocations and related financial statement presentationManage the consolidation and elimination process across all FBG legal entities, ensuring intercompany balances are properly reconciled and eliminated each close cyclePerform and review balance sheet reconciliations across assigned areas, monitoring reconciliation status and ensuring timely resolution of open itemsPrepare quarterly flux analysis across key balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying and explaining significant variances and trends to support financial reviewPrepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including state-level reporting requirementsMaintain and strengthen internal controls (including SOX) across consolidation and intercompany accounting processesSupport and coordinate the external audit process, preparing audit schedules and serving as a primary point of contact for auditor requests in areas of ownershipCollaborate with Shared Services on transactional and intercompany accounting and with Technical Accounting on complex or non-routine transactionsPartner with Finance on budgets and forecasts, providing accounting context and ensuring alignment between actuals and planWork closely with business stakeholders to stay ahead of operational and structural developments and ensure they are appropriately captured in the financialsIdentify and drive process improvements across consolidation, intercompany, and close workflows to support accuracy, efficiency, and scaleSupport and develop team members, helping build a high-performing accounting functionSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related fieldCPA or equivalent strongly preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of close processes and financial statement preparationStrong foundation in US GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plusExperience in financial services, gaming, or other regulated industries with complex multi-entity structures strongly preferredExperience with consolidation accounting and NCI strongly preferredAdvanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with financial systems and ERP platforms preferredStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple entitiesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, accounting, and business teamsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and proactively manage through ambiguityCompany OverviewFanatics is a global sports platform reimagining the fan experience across gear, trading cards, sports betting, content, events, and more.
