[Remote] Accounting Consultant

The Accounting Consultant is responsible for leading critical revenue and membership accounting functions across complex healthcare arrangements, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and providing leadership to accountants supporting revenue and close activities.ResponsibilitiesOversee assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely executionReview and approve complex journal entriesEnsure alignment of revenue and membership across RAM, ECAP, and UHC reportingOwn oversight of high‑risk reconciliations, including revenue, AR, eliminations, and intercompany accountsReview variance analyses, challenge assumptions, and ensure timely issue resolutionEnsure compliance with SOX and internal control standards; maintain high‑quality, audit‑ready documentationServe as a primary point of contact for internal and external audit inquiries related to revenue and close activityReview and approve key reporting deliverablesPartner with FP&A on forecasting, trend analysis, and variance explanationsAct as a subject‑matter expert for healthcare revenue and membership accountingSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting5+ years of accounting experienceProven excellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced Excel and data analysis skillsPrior experience leading or reviewing complex close areasProven ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environmentAccounting and finance systems experience - PeopleSoft, SmartView / EssbaseCompany OverviewEquity Staffing Group is a staffing and recruiting company specializing in industrial staffing services.
