HII Mission Technologies is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant with a strong foundation in financial accounting, revenue recognition, and multi-entity reporting. This remote role reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting, Revenue Recognition, and SOX Compliance and supports month-end close, intercompany accounting, revenue recognition activities, and ongoing enhancements within the accounting function.ResponsibilitiesPrepare fluctuation analyses and financial schedules for assigned entitiesPerform monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations with a high degree of accuracyReview customer contracts to support proper revenue recognition under ASC 606Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysisAssist with audit-related requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentationWork within ERP and consolidation systems (including OneStream) to support reporting and data accuracyBuild and maintain basic-to-moderate automation solutions (e.g., RPA bots, workflow automation, excel/ power query- based tools, scripts) to reduce manual effort and improve accuracyParticipate in special projects including system implementations, reporting enhancements, and internal control (SOX) initiativesUphold adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and internal control standardsSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting with 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 1 year of relevant experienceStrong understanding of GAAP, core accounting principles, and financial statementsExperience with multi-entity accounting or consolidationsHands‑on experience with reconciliations, close processes, and journal entriesExperience working with a mid‑to‑large ERP systemAbility to build or enhance accounting tools using Excel (macros, formulas, templates, Power Query, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively and collaborate across departmentsComfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environmentCPA certification (or actively pursuing)Experience with Deltek Costpoint, OneStream, SAP or other ERP/ consolidation systemsHands-on experience with financial consolidation tools (OneStream, CFIN, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.)Experience with RPA tools or similar automation platformsExperience with technical accounting research and memo preparationExperience with data visualization/ reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)BenefitsBest-in-class medical, dental and vision plan choicesWellness resourcesEmployee assistance programsSavings Plan Options (401(k))Financial planning toolsLife insuranceEmployee discountsPaid holidays and paid time offTuition reimbursementEarly childhood and post-secondary education scholarshipsBonus/other non-recurrent compensation is occasionally offered for qualified positions, and if applicable to this role will be addressed by the recruiter at the screening phase of applicationCompany OverviewHII’s Mission Technologies division develops integrated solutions that enable today’s connected, all-domain force.
