[Remote] Account Manager, West Coast (REMOTE)

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is an independent scientific organization dedicated to developing quality standards for medicines and food ingredients. The Account Manager will drive revenue growth and expand market presence in the West Coast territory, focusing on customer relationships and collaboration with internal teams to enhance customer experiences.ResponsibilitiesAchieve revenues and units growth target for his/ her/ their territory and accountsDevelop and execute plans to protect and grow revenues at existing accounts and drive new customer’s acquisition. Manage sales activities in Salesforce CRMCollaborate with business support functions (Marketing, Inside Sales, Science team..) and support the execution of revenues growth initiatives in his/ her/ their territoryIdentify and influence key decision makers in the buying process toward USP products and servicesResponsible for following up on sales qualified leadsIdentify and unlock opportunities, to position USP as a leader in pharmaceutical drugs standardsCultivate and strengthen customer relationships at all levels, positioning USP as a trusted advisor to pharmaceutical developers and manufacturersPartner with customers to understand and help address critical quality challenges in pharmaceutical drugs development and manufacturingPartner with Scientific Affairs, Science and Marketing teams to deliver seamless and differentiated customer experiences through organization of customer eventsAttend industry trade shows, conferences, and professional forums as appropriate, elevating the organization’s visibility and influenceUse of Salesforce CRM and data analytics to track sales performances and inform your actionsAnalyze and interpret your territory sales data—direct and through distributors—to identify revenue opportunities and provide strategic business reviewsGather and consolidate market and customer feedback, providing actionable recommendations to Global Marketing and Strategy teams as appropriateSkillsBachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline (preferably analytical chemistry, chemistry) with a minimum of 5-years professional experience in life sciences industryAt least 3 years of experience as an account manager in life sciences industry, with a track record of consistently meeting sales targetsProven experience in selling products or services to pharma and biopharma accounts (PD labs and QC labs target functions)Familiarity with pharmaceutical drugs manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and clinical development processStrong problem-solving skills with customer-centric approachBias to action and results driven with a track record of successful outcomesExcellent interpersonal skills, presentation, communications skillsExcellent relationship-building skills with customersStrong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skillsAccountability and ownership of workStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced multi-task environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office, data analytical platform (e.g. Tableau) and CRM (e.g. Sales Force)Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly mannerMaster's degree preferred in either business or science with an MBAEducation and training in pharmaceutical sciences and business highly desiredAbility to gain customer confidence and build long-term relationshipsAbility to listen and gather customer/stakeholder insights and respond with creative solutionsTeam player who is self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and works well in a collaborative entrepreneurial environmentStrong project management and communication skillsExperience with regulatory, quality assurance or GMP backgroundExisting relationships with decision makers in the pharmaceutical markets preferred, including manufacturers, trade associations and/or retailersBenefitsCompany-paid time offComprehensive healthcare optionsRetirement savingsTarget Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.Company OverviewUS Pharmacopeia (USP) is an independent, scientific nonprofit organization that has focused on building trust in the supply of safe, quality medicines since 1820.
