The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships within the existing client base, focusing on driving expansion opportunities, supporting contract renewals, and minimizing client attrition through proactive outreach and problem resolution.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with existing clientsServe as a primary point of contact for commercial and account-related needsEnsure a professional, responsive, and consistent client experienceProactively monitor client health and identify early signs of dissatisfaction or disengagementEngage at-risk clients with urgency, developing and executing retention plansPartner with Support and Services teams to resolve issues impacting client satisfactionReinforce product value through regular touchpoints, training, and solution alignmentTrack and report on retention risks, escalations, and outcomesContribute to reducing overall client churn through consistent, proactive account managementConduct outbound calls and outreach to generate add-on sales opportunitiesIdentify and position additional modules, services, and training offeringsPromote and sell product training to drive client adoption and value realizationQualify opportunities and move them through the sales cycle efficientlyCollaborate with the broader sales team on larger or strategic opportunitiesReview, analyze, and manage Annual Service Contract renewalsOwn the renewal process with a focus on both timely execution and retention outcomesProactively follow up with clients on renewal terms, questions, and timelinesIdentify and mitigate risks that could impact renewal successEnsure timely and accurate submission of renewal documentationMaintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM systemTrack lead status, opportunity progress, and sales activityPrepare quotes, sales packages, and supporting documentationEnsure data integrity to support forecasting and reportingSupport billing coordination as needed to ensure accuracy across account lifecycleCoordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing and invoicingSupport operational tasks tied to account lifecycle managementWork closely with Sales, Support, and Operations teams to improve client outcomesProvide feedback on client trends, objections, and product gapsContribute to refining account management processes and sales strategiesSkillsBachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field1 to 5 years of experience in account management, sales, or client-facing rolesStrong understanding of sales principles and customer lifecycle managementExcellent communication, listening, and negotiation skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyProficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office toolsAbility to make timely decisions and take ownership of outcomesExperience using AI tools to support research, communication, and sales preparationAbility to leverage AI for drafting outreach, summarizing client data, and improving efficiencyStrong judgment to validate AI-generated outputs before client useExperience selling software solutions, particularly ERP systemsFamiliarity with service-based industries such as HVAC, plumbing, or constructionBackground in account expansion, renewals, or inside salesExperience working in a recurring revenue or SaaS environmentCompany OverviewVentus Software delivers enterprise operational and financial management software built specifically for specialty contractors and service-driven construction businesses.
