Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Patent Agent to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patent and trademark law. This role requires exceptional writing skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex legal issues effectively. As a Patent Agent, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with patent applications, conducting thorough research, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities • Prepare and file patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) • Conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyze prior art to assess patentability • Draft legal documents related to patent law and assist in the negotiation of licensing agreements • Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters, including enforcement of patent rights • Collaborate with inventors and clients to gather necessary information for patent applications • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all patent-related activities • Stay updated on changes in patent law and regulations that may affect clients' interests • Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions • Assist in litigation matters related to patent infringement or disputes Experience • Registered to practice before the USPTO • Degree in a technical field (e.g., EE, CS, ME, Chem, Biotech, or similar) • 2+ years of patent drafting and prosecution experience • Experience preparing and prosecuting U.S. trademark applications • Experience handling U.S. trademark filings and Office Action responses • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Able to work independently and manage deadlines • Reliable internet connection • Previous experience in a law office or similar legal environment is highly desirable Join us as we navigate the complexities of patent law while providing exceptional service to our clients.
