Position: Transactional or Regulatory Associate
Type: Contract
Compensation: $180–$200/hour
Role Responsibilities
• Draft practitioner-level research questions in corporate transactions, securities regulation, administrative law, and compliance.
• Incorporate jurisdiction-specific statutory or regulatory interpretation.
• Frame issues requiring synthesis of statutory text, agency guidance, case law, and legislative history.
• Ensure questions resemble real client matters, not academic hypotheticals.
• Collaborate with a cutting-edge AI research lab to define realistic evaluation benchmarks.
Qualifications
Must-Have
• 4–7+ years of law firm experience in transactional or regulatory practice.
• Strong background in statutory and regulatory interpretation.
• Experience researching federal and/or state regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to clearly scope legal issues for research.
Preferred
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
• Background in highly regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, energy, etc.).
• Prior work in legal tech or AI-related initiatives.
