Schedule: PRN Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 501 REDMOND RD NW City: ROME State: Georgia Postal Code: 30165 Job Description: • Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene. • Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery. • Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria. • Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface a minimum of every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed. • Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings in accordance with patient progress. • Draws and analyzes arterial and capillary blood gases, places arterial lines, and makes or recommends changes in respiratory management according to blood gas results. • Recommends changes in respiratory plan of care according to documented medical necessity and within established protocols. • Ensures the effectiveness of therapist assessment and reassessment by monitoring patient progress. • Makes and/or recommends changes based on pulse oximetry, peak flow measurement, chest x-ray, lab work, and other data relevant to optimal patient progress. • Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation, determining or guiding the determination of ventilator mode and settings. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations are required. [Required] • Intubations and airway management for all population served [Preferred] • Ventilator management for all populations served [Preferred] • Arterial line placements [Preferred] Education: • Associate [Required] Field of Study: • Must be a graduate of an approved respiratory care program Work Experience: • 1+ critical care experience [Preferred] Additional Information: • N/A Licenses and Certifications: • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] OR NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred] • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) [Preferred] • Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred] • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred] • S.T.A.B.L.E.
