REGISTERED NURSE (Ypsilanti Health Center- Fam Med and OB/GYN)
About the position The Registered Nurse position at the Ypsilanti Health Center focuses on providing culturally sensitive, age-specific nursing care in a team-based environment. The role involves caring for adult, pediatric, and obstetrical patients, managing medical issues, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care. Responsibilities • Provide culturally sensitive, age-specific nursing care within the Ypsilanti Health Center. • Assess patient needs and assist with medical issues related to health concerns. • Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages. • Adapt communication style to patients from diverse backgrounds. • Utilize electronic health records to document health information accurately. • Collaborate with providers to provide advice or determine patient disposition. • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and promote continuity of care. • Conduct nurse visits including pre-visit planning, medication reconciliation, and patient education. • Manage telephone communications and assist with procedures as needed. Requirements • Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan. • Three years of RN experience in Adult Internal Medicine within the last five years. • One year of OB/Gyn RN experience in Ambulatory Care or Labor and Delivery. Nice-to-haves • Experience in Ambulatory Care Nursing • Telephone management experience • Emergency Department experience • Ambulatory Care Certification • Family Medicine experience • BSN • Experience as a charge nurse or equivalent management skills • Bilingual in Spanish • Pediatric nursing experience • Demonstrated commitment to the Ypsilanti Community.
