About the role An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse to join our Aged Care team. selectability, a reputable aged care provider that provides supports in the Lower Gulf of North Queensland is expanding our aged care services to the community of Aurukun, located in the Cape York Peninsula. As the registered nurse, you will play a vital role in the lives of the older persons by providing quality, responsive and compassionate care. Working closely with the Regional Manager Aurukun, aged care workers and support staff, to provide person-centred quality care to support the older persons and their care needs. We offer a 6 weeks onsite, 2 weeks offsite roster, with known leave dates, so you can plan your life around work. We’re committed to fatigue management, which means you’ll always have enough time to rest and recharge. We offer above award rates, so you’ll be well- compensated for your hard work. We also provide travel, accommodation, and meals so you don’t have to worry about any of the logistics. About you To be considered for this rewarding role you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team. To be successful you must: strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of employees exceptional time management skills and attention to detail be able to follow policies and procedures at all times sensitive and adaptable to older persons different personalities, cultural backgrounds and personal circumstances and most importantly a positive attitude! You will also need: APHRA registration to practice as a registered nurse in Australia previous experience working in an aged care (highly desirable) previous experience working in remote areas (desirable) NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain) NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence current flu vaccination (recommended) COVID vaccination (recommended) first aid and CPR (or the ability to obtain) have easy access to a major airport at either Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane About the offer This is a remote position in the Cape York Peninsula on a 6 week on 2 week off roster. This role provides significant overtime opportunities; on average our registered nurses annual remuneration is around $190k plus super.
