The Ramp Agent at Southwest Airlines plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of ground services at the airport. Responsibilities
Ā Provide friendly service to and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external Customers
,
Ā Work cooperatively to ensure the success of the Company
,
Ā Provide legendary Customer service to travelers using cargo or baggage services
,
Ā Load, unload, service, guide, and direct Company Aircraft
,
Ā Receive and record Customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
,
Ā Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, cargo airmail, air freight, ballast, and company materials according to predetermined plans
,
Ā Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft and prepare records
,
Ā Warehouse, weigh, stack, pick up, and deliver air cargo, checking for discrepancies
,
Ā Safeguard Customers' baggage, air cargo, air mail, and COMAT from loss or damage
,
Ā Perform interior aircraft cabin cleaning and service lavatories
,
Ā Transport cabin and cleaning equipment between aircraft storage areas
,
Ā Operate and/or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders and pushback tugs
,
Ā Complete forms and paperwork connected with work assignments according to established procedures
Requirements
Ā Ability to work well with others as part of a team
,
Ā Ability to work under stressful situations
,
Ā Must satisfactorily complete Ramp Agent training program with a 90% or greater average
,
Ā Ability to read documents and follow instructions
,
Ā Must be aware of hazardous situations and handle emergencies
,
Ā Must meet all grooming standards as outlined in the Ground Operations Employee Handbook
,
Ā Must be able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment
,
Ā Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
,
Ā Must be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly
