About the position The Model Validation Expert at PNC Financial Services Group plays a crucial role in the Independent Risk Management organization, focusing on the rigorous independent review and oversight of significant financial models. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of models used in commercial credit and financial valuation, contributing to the overall risk management framework of the organization. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and involves preparing detailed validation reports for regulatory compliance. Responsibilities • Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments of models including data quality, theoretical assumptions, and performance testing., • Conduct independent testing of model assumptions and use quantitative tools to measure model risks., • Prepare detailed validation reports for internal and external communications and regulatory compliance., • Lead validation projects and guide other validators in accordance with the model risk management framework., • Establish effective relationships with key stakeholders and communicate validation results clearly to diverse audiences. Requirements • Doctoral degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline., • 5 years of experience in financial and credit risk model development and/or validation within the financial services industry., • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to credit risk models., • Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, and SQL., • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Nice-to-haves • Master's degree in a quantitative field., • 10+ years of experience in financial and credit risk model development and/or validation., • Strong statistical and econometric training.
