Quality Technician (3rd Shift)

As a Quality Technician- 3rd Shift at Itron, you will perform moderately complex inspection of standard parts, finished product, equipment, or materials under general supervision. In addition, this candidate will perform audits to assure established standards of quality are maintained. Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine calibration and functional tests on all types of finished products. Test ANSI, Canadian and other specified test points related to product performance. Perform special tests for Customer First Articles and Internal First Articles. Fill out various QC documents such as hold tickets and Quality Awareness bulletins. Maintain the elements of the ISO9000 and Measurement Canada Accreditation requirements. Prepare and issue customer specific test reports and test certificates. Communicate with production management regarding the findings of routine audits performed, drive investigation on root cause. Review the QC findings weekly, generate conclusive reports and discuss with the Quality Engineer. Creation and update of Quality documentation i.e., standard operation procedures, acceptance criteria, and test plans as needed. Support 8D problem solving teams as an active team member. Provide technical support to quality auditors on day-to-day tasks. Train new quality auditors Provide backup coverage to quality auditors as needed. Assist Quality Engineer with special projects as required. Perform other tasks as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: 1-2 years experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment or related experience. Familiarity with measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.) Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Preferred Skills: Experience working in an automotive environment or other fast-paced manufacturing environment.
