This role is posted on behalf of the following client: A AAA sports game studio building the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games in Unreal Engine 5. The team is developing a globally anticipated European football title with plans for long-term live support, collaborating across design, engineering, and live ops to deliver a high-quality player experience.
Role Overview:
The QA Tester will support an upcoming AAA soccer game by ensuring high quality standards through thorough testing, clear documentation, and actionable bug reporting. This role partners closely with developers, feature pods, and the broader QA team to build and execute test plans, track issues through resolution, and provide feedback on gameplay feel, usability, balance, pacing, and overall flow.
What You'll Do:
• Collaborate with developers and designers to gather requirements and develop/maintain test plans for key game features and incoming work.
• Execute comprehensive testing to identify, document, and report bugs; track fixes through resolution and verify outcomes using standard bug-tracking tools.
• Provide detailed feedback and reporting on mechanics feel, usability, UI behavior, performance/stability across platforms, balance, pacing, and game flow; share findings with stakeholders and participate in cross-functional meetings to align QA objectives with production goals.
Who You Are:
• 2+ years of experience in a QA/testing role within game development, including at least one shipped AAA title (sports titles are a plus).
• Experienced creating and verifying detailed test checklists, building QA documentation, and logging issues in tools such as JIRA and/or TestRail; strong understanding of the game development process in a studio setting.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to communicate clearly with developers while providing constructive feedback on the player experience; passion for soccer/football is a strong plus (as is familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity for testing).
