QA Automation Tester

The IT QA Automation Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through meticulous testing and analysis. This role leads testing efforts by designing, implementing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test automation frameworks in an Agile and CI-powered environment. The IT QA Automation Tester identifies software issues, collaborates with development teams to resolve bugs, and ensures the final product meets both functional and non-functional requirements, such as performance, security, and scalability. Reports to Development manager. Interacts with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers and Business Users for Projects.
Essential Functions
Develop Quality Scope/Strategy
Develop test cases in a timely manner
Execute test cases and evaluate results against expected results
Retest resolved defects on each release and maintain test cases and documentation
Participation in Quality reviews and validation of requirements, architecture diagrams, acceptance criteria and other related documents.
Assist with enhancements to current testing methodology
Subject matter expert for Quality process and tools used
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with Quality Project Plan
Establishing appropriate quality gates
Oversee project test planning and execution
Coordinating all testing efforts including the setup and use of testing environment
Ensuring that releases adhere to established quality standards and measurements
Communicating project status to all appropriate and interested parties
Anticipating and addressing project obstacles
Issue Resolution/Escalation
Coordinates and participates in post-implementation reviews
Perform or assist with planning, development and execution of test automation
Perform or assist with planning, development and execution of performance test
Review/Validation of team member test cases and test results as needed
Reviews compliance with current standards and procedures
Identifying, improving, and implementing standards for Quality
Maintenance of Quality Tools as needed
Skills and Abilities
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Strong Project Management Skills required
Must be flexible and motivated and work well as part of a team
Must be a quick learner
Sets quality standards and mentors team regarding quality and best practice
Qualifications
Three (3) to five (5) years or more quality engineering, software testing field required
Three (3) to five (5) years or more quality assurance, quality engineering, process and procedure required
Experience with testing tools like Selenium, Jmeter, DBUnit or equivalent software required
Operational understanding of SQL and how to retrieve/manipulate data
Experience in Azure DevOps (ADO) and test manager feature preferred
Understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values and procedures
Able to develop, maintain and execute functional test automation scripts
