QA Automation Engineer

About the Role We're building software used by companies around the world to solve complex global payroll, compliance, and workforce management challenges. We're hiring multiple QA engineers across several teams, so depending on your strengths and interests, you could work on areas like: Knowledge Platform Client Account Management Integrations Client Analytics Time and Attendance All teams share a common goal: building reliable, scalable systems that power critical business operations for our customers. This is a fully remote role, working with a distributed team. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for services and APIs Define and implement testing strategies for distributed, event-driven systems Ensure high quality across services by covering functional, integration, and end-to-end testing Validate event flows, data consistency, and system behaviour under failure scenarios Work closely with engineers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases Improve observability and monitoring to proactively find issues in production Advocate for best practices in testing, quality, and reliability across teams Help mentor others and raise the bar for quality engineering What We're Looking For We care more about what you can do than ticking every box, but strong candidates will have: Experience in QA / SDET roles testing full stack applications Strong experience with test automation (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or similar) Experience testing distributed or event-driven systems Solid understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E, contract testing) Familiarity with AWS environments and serverless architectures Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in deployment workflows Comfortable working with APIs, JSON, and data validation Strong debugging skills and attention to detail Nice to Have Experience with performance or load testing tools Experience testing data pipelines or analytics platforms Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, or similar) Experience with contract testing (e.g. Pact) Exposure to frontend testing (React / Next.js) Experience in multi-tenant SaaS platforms How We Work Fully remote, async-friendly, and collaborative Small teams with end-to-end ownership Ship often via CI/CD Strong focus on reliability, observability, and real-world impact We actively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, ChatGPT) to speed up workflows and reduce boilerplate Our Global Benefits 👨 ‍ 💻 Autonomy and Flexibility (work in any way): Remote first, with the flexibility to include life needs like school runs and gym breaks in your schedule , all while maintaining a high standard of work. 🌴 Generous leave: Enjoy a competitive leave package including paid bonding leaves for new additions to your family 🎁 Make a difference: Get 2 paid charitable days off to contribute to causes you believe in 💰 Corporate bonus/SIP: All Guardians are eligible for our annual bonus scheme or sales incentive plan. ✈ ️ International environment: Grow your network internationally and collaborate across the world.
