Family Therapist – Children & Young People (CYP)

About the Role

This service is expanding its Children and Young People (CYP) Talking Therapies service, delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health support to children, young people and families across the UK.

As a Family Therapist, you will work systemically with children, young people and their families to support emotional wellbeing and improve relational dynamics. You will deliver evidence-based family interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting children and young people experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality systemic family therapy interventions to children, young people and families

Carry out comprehensive assessments, formulation, and risk assessments

Work collaboratively with families to improve communication, relationships and outcomes

Provide therapy via remote and/or face-to-face sessions

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including CBT Therapists, Psychologists and CWP's.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with service requirements

Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality and clinical governance frameworks

Engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing CPD

Essential Requirements (Strict Criteria)

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Current professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body (e.g. UKCP, AFT)

Completed a recognised Family/Systemic Therapy qualification (e.g. MSc in Systemic Family Therapy or equivalent)

Demonstrable experience delivering systemic family therapy to children and young people

Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and clinical governance

Experience working with children, young people and families within mental health services
