About the position Siena College Public Safety Officers ensure the safety and security of the Siena College Community by providing professional supportive services to students, employees and visitors. Duties include (but not limited to): Campus patrol by vehicle, bicycle and foot, ensuring compliance with college rules, traffic rules & laws and ordinances, physical security checks, access control, motorist assistance, computer aided dispatch and CCTV monitoring, report writing, and community outreach and training. The shift schedule is flexible and may include nights and weekends. Responsibilities • Campus patrol by vehicle, bicycle and foot • Ensure compliance with college rules, traffic rules & laws and ordinances • Physical security checks • Access control • Motorist assistance • Computer aided dispatch and CCTV monitoring • Report writing • Community outreach and training Requirements • High School diploma or GED: Some college preferred • Must have a clean NYS Driver's License and must maintain the license throughout the duration of employment • NYS Security Guard License or ability to obtain one • Security, Military or Law Enforcement background a plus • A background screening will be required.
