Public Finance Analyst

The Public Finance Analyst will provide support in investment banking, assist in developing financing proposals, and participate in financial modeling and market research.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of financing proposals and pitch materialsDevelop and refine financial models to support marketing efforts and transaction executionResearch capital needs and financial structures using a range of data and analytical toolsResearch industry trends and work with colleagues to develop actionable strategies to be used by bankers across the countryCreate client marketing and sales offering materials, attend client meetings, and act as a point of contact for the finance team throughout the financing processAnalyze capital structures of existing and prospective clients to identify opportunitiesQuickly gain an understanding of markets and market participants, including public and private credit marketsSkillsBachelor's Degree in Finance, Math, Economics, Public Policy or a related field with at least some coursework and/or internship experience supportive of proficiency with analytical skillsInterest in infrastructure financing including some knowledge of the public sector and fixed incomeAbility to multi-task, work independently and collaborate in teamsWorking knowledge and/or an ability to quickly gain proficiency in a variety of web-based applications and specialized information systems, including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Securities Data Corp, EMMA and DBCKnowledge of finance and accounting principles and the primary differences between governmental and corporate financial statementsAbility to prepare and deliver clear, effective and professional presentationsCompetence in clearly and effectively communicating in both oral and written formats; including technical writingExtremely strong organizational skills requiredSeries 50, 52, 63, or ability to obtain within 12 months from date of hireHigh proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
