Overview We are looking for a part-time, 12 hour per week sales assistant to join us. There will be opportunities for more hours depending on the working week. In 1949, driven by a passion for baseball, visionary Mitsugu Tanabe quit his day job and founded the Tanabe Meriyasu factory in Fukui, Japan. Inspired by the stockings of visiting American baseball teams in the years following the war, Tanabe began to create baseball stirrup stockings of exceptional quality, even inventing new machines in order to yield a result superior to anything else available. Tanabe Meriyasu soon gained a reputation for quality and craftmanship. The factory went on to supply the official training wears of the 1964 Japanese Olympic team. The Jackman brand as it exists today is the evolution of Tanabe\'s founding vision. Each piece is still crafted in the original factory, and the Jackman offering may of extended far beyond baseball stirrup stockings, but the same commitment to quality that inspired Mitsugu Tanabe remains. We even continue to use the original vintage machines; although the pace is slower than today\'s machines, the quality endures. Responsibilities Take in product details and be able to relay that information to the customer Greet all customers promptly and courteously as they enter the store Aim to maintain and create customers not just sales, but by representing the brand Support the Store Manager, Designers and Buyers by advising of customer comments and feedback Create a retail environment that is innovative, unique and customer friendly Adhere to the health & safety policy and security procedures, to help prevent theft as detailed in the loss prevention handbook Be proactive in Loss Prevention by keeping the stockroom well organized and maintaining proper procedures Check stock daily to ensure that all products are adequately stocked, ticketed, sized and available for customers Discover the specific needs of each person that enters the store by using open questions and developing your product knowledge Understand the returns policy and how it can be used as a positive selling tool Be proactive in your ongoing education regarding the company, weekly reports, products, and local retail business Always provide a friendly telephone manner Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude and cooperate with teamwork The Person Available to work weekends and 1 day a week Positive, enthusiastic approach to the Jackman Brand Great communication skills Organised Benefits Annual performance-related bonus Competitive salary Generous staff discount Generous pension scheme with 8.5% company contribution Enhanced maternity and paternity packages Life insurance Season ticket loan 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Regular opportunities to attend gigs / events We actively welcome applications from people of all different backgrounds.
