P/T Evening Legal Asst and Intake Coordinator for Law Office

AW Law is an education law firm based in Columbus, Ohio, seeking a part-time evening legal assistant and intake coordinator. This role involves conducting initial client intake interviews, scheduling consultations, and ensuring compliance with firm policies while providing excellent client service. Responsibilities Conducting initial intake interviews of potential clients and scheduling consultation with attorneys Assisting in identifying potential conflicts of interest Explaining our fee structure to clients and collecting payment for consultations Accurately gathering and entering detailed client information into firm case management software Processing credit card payments and ensuring they are accurately tracked in firm case management software Occasionally sending and confirming engagement letters for new and existing clients Occasionally declining client representation and providing appropriate referrals as directed by attorneys Communicating promptly and effectively with new and existing clients, attorneys, and firm employees Ensuring compliance with Firm policies and procedures, including but not limited adhering to attorney ethics code Skills Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, client-oriented demeanor A high level of professionalism Strong attention to detail Empathy and patience for people going through difficult situations The ability to work independently, problem solve, and think critically in a fast-paced environment The ability to quickly transcribe and synthesize new information Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn new programs Able to follow directions carefully and meet deadlines Team-player and positive attitude Commitment to personal and professional ethics Excellent time management and organizational skills A solution-based approach in all aspects of work Professional fluency in English Experience working with MyCase preferred but not required Benefits Parental leave/short term disability Retirement plan with employer matching Company Overview Our mission is to protect the rights and futures of students and educators.
