Property Accountant – great team (1 remote day)

About the position Responsibilities • Manage high-volume Accounts Payable and ensure timely payments of invoices, including utilities. • Input General Ledger and expense accrual journal entries into RealPage. • Process weekly manual check payments for site renovation projects. • Reconcile credit card statements for site expenses. • Provide copies of invoices, payments, and financial statements monthly. • Assist with annual site budgets and forecasts. • Perform quarterly Balance Sheet account reconciliations. • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage check registers for all accounts. • Process security deposit refunds and handle NSF checks, stop payments, and reissued checks. • Perform monthly vendor aging analysis. • Prepare monthly financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flows. • Analyze and explain current and year-to-date revenue and expense variances. • Generate monthly billing comparison reports and utility expense reconciliation for assigned properties. • Support the year-end close process by preparing lead schedules, supporting schedules, and audit binder reports. • Collect and distribute mail within the Corporate office. • Complete other duties as needed. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. • 3-5 years in Real Estate accounting or related Accounting experience. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as experience with RealPage, OneSite, or similar property management software. • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial analysis, especially within residential properties. • Skilled in bank reconciliation and financial statement analysis, with a capacity to manage multiple tasks, solve diverse issues, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
