Property Accountant, Corporate

About the position

We are looking for a Property Accountant to be responsible for monitoring, processing, and managing the accounts payable, receipts, and collection efforts for one or more of our properties at our Corporate Office in Arlington, VA. What the Property Accountant will be doing: Handling accounts payable procedures, to include vendor maintenance, contract compliance, invoice tracking, coding, and assure timely approval. Posting rents and other collections within the accounting system. Reconciling resident ledgers, tracking security deposits, assisting with resolving billing discrepancies, and handling accounting-related resident relations. Coordinating with onsite property management on any collection efforts. Preparing various accounting and related management reports. Assisting the Property Manager with tasks in relation to managing the properties. Working in the Corporate offices with intermittent hybrid onsite. What the Property Accountant will need to succeed: Experience with Entrata or similar property accounting software preferred. Highly organized with strong time-management skills. Ability to manage recurring deadlines and high transaction volume. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Excellent computer knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Strong interpersonal, written communication, and mathematical skills. Ability to organize and multitask in a busy office environment. Associate's degree or equivalent, with experience in property management accounting, preferred.
