Project Scientist

Location: Kansas City Metro area (FULLY REMOTE) Job Summary: Trileaf is seeking a full-time, field Project Scientist with at 0-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on commercial real estate and/or telecom projects, to include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) and Phase II ESAs. This position will be remote & based in the Kansas City metro Area (will consider Kansas City MO/KS and Topeka KS areas). Essential Job Functions: Travel to project location, take detailed notes and photographs of site (2-3 days per week) Conducting interviews, in person, via email, and phone Ordering & analyzing government database records Performing regulatory agency file reviews Reviewing historical data (including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs) Drafting of a standardized report using information from these various sources Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients Completing requested revisions & submitting report within pre-established timelines Conducting field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air Compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards Basic Qualifications: To be considered, the resume of the applicant must demonstrate the following qualifications/skills: Attention to detail Strong work ethic Valid driver license Capable of field work Ability and willingness to travel (travel not expected to exceed 2-3 days at a time) Good computer skills Independent worker Commitment to excellence Phase I Assessments NEPA Assessments Preferred Qualifications / Experience: 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification Licensed Asbestos Inspector Management Mold assessment experience Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM E1903) Property Condition Assessments (ASTM E2018) Transaction Screen Assessments (ASTM E1528) Record Search with Risk Assessments (SBA SOP 50 10 6) Environmental Professional (EP) Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography or related fields The listed salary range for this position is an expected range.
