Program Manager, Municipal Engagement
Sustainable Westchester delivers climate solutions to the governments, businesses, organizations, and people of Westchester County. The Program Manager oversees municipal engagement, coordinating with various teams and serving as a liaison to municipal leaders and community stakeholders to promote climate action and community empowerment.ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day municipal engagement operations, ensuring timely execution and adherence to established protocolsBuild and maintain strong relationships with municipal leaders, elected officials, community organizations, industry groups, chambers of commerce, and sustainability committeesLead outreach to non-participating municipalities to drive enrollment in Sustainable Westchester programsMonitor and share relevant legislative updates, regulatory changes, and grant or sponsorship opportunities with municipal and internal stakeholdersConduct asset mapping to identify community needs, service gaps, and opportunities for collaboration and growthCoordinate across Sustainable Westchester programs and maintain working knowledge of residential and commercial offerings to ensure alignment and impactPlan, market and deliver community-facing campaigns, events, and informational sessions with municipal partners and volunteer networksSupervise program staff and manage coordination with internal teams, vendors, and partners, including maintaining a vetted list of service providers for municipal decarbonization, solar, and sustainable landscaping initiativesManage program planning and operations, including annual work plans, budgets, reporting, and consistent use of SalesforceSupport program development and innovation, and lead the Sustainable Landscaping and GridRewards marketing efforts to help municipalities meet their climate goalsSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience1-2 years of experience in program/project management preferably in the nonprofit, clean energy, or startup sectorsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of managing complex projects to successful outcomesPreference for fast-paced and collaborative working styleProficiency in CRM and project management tools; experience with Salesforce and Asana a plusStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across a diverse stakeholder baseExcel skillsExperience in community engagementAble to lift and transport up to 40 pounds of materials to multiple locations within Westchester CountyMust hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable, fully insured vehicleAbility to work evenings and occasional weekends as requiredDesign skills are highly preferred, experience with Adobe programs or CanvaBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision benefits.Mental Health Resources.Generous vacation time along with paid time off for Federal and Religious holidays each year.
