Professional Development Coordinator
Ice Miller LLP is a law firm that is seeking a Professional Development Coordinator to support their Professional Development Department. The role involves planning and executing training programs, managing mentoring initiatives, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance lawyer development within the firm.ResponsibilitiesSupport the PD team in delivering all firmwide and practice area-specific servicesProvide exceptional service working with lawyers, leaders, and colleagues throughout the firmBe proactive and take initiative in anticipating the needs of our lawyers, solving problems, and identifying opportunities to improve department servicesProvide support before, during, and after in-person and virtual meetings, trainings, and events, including scheduling (conference rooms, technology, catering, and other logistics) and providing real-time support to presenters and attendeesCreate, distribute, and analyze post-program surveys and feedback, then track and report on attorney engagement in internal and external training opportunitiesAssist with the firmwide mentoring program by coordinating mentor/mentee pairings, tracking participation, and supporting related events and activitiesProvide support for the annual performance review processesMonitor the Professional Development and CLE Outlook inbox and respond to inquiries promptlyCoordinate the Firm’s CLE programs, including applying for credit, tracking and reporting attendance, setting up in-house sessions, and assisting with CLE questionsManage invoices, expense reimbursements, and travel arrangementsLiaise with external vendors to resolve issues, implement updates, and streamline processesManage data in various systems, software applications, and platformsContribute to accuracy and ongoing improvement of programs, policies, and proceduresRegularly update the Professional Development online presenceSupport research and special projects as neededAttend in-person events led by the Professional Development team as neededPartner with HR, Recruiting, and Business Development/Marketing teams to align PD initiativesMaintain a growth mindset and seek opportunities to continue to learn about ways to innovate and improve how we use technology and provide servicesStay current on industry best practices and trends in legal professional development and share insights with the PD teamSkillsHigh school diploma requiredPrior customer service experience requiredStrong project management and process improvement skillsMust be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracyExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to research, analyze, and synthesize data effectivelyProven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlinesDemonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalismCollaborative and team oriented with the ability to build positive working relationshipsStrong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated proactive and growth mindsetCommitted to continuous learning and professional development and receptive to feedbackProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an interest and ability to learn new software quicklyMust be able to perform all essential job dutiesBachelor's degree preferredExperience in a professional services position a plusCompany OverviewBuilt on a foundation of legal service more than a century long, Ice Miller remains committed to helping our clients stay ahead in a changing world.
