Product Owner

ConnectPay Payroll Services provides payroll and HR solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. As a Product Owner, you will collaborate with product managers, engineering, and design teams to translate product strategies into actionable requirements, prioritize the product backlog, and ensure the continuous evolution of payroll and HRIS capabilities.ResponsibilitiesTranslate high-level product strategy into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirementsMaintain and prioritize the product backlog to ensure clarity and alignment with business and customer needsWork with engineering to refine requirements and support sprint planning activitiesConduct user interviews, analyze support trends, and gather feedback to understand customer pain pointsReview product usage data to identify patterns, opportunities, and areas for improvementPartner with design to support user flows, prototypes, and UX decisionsWork with engineering throughout the development cycle, ensuring clarity and alignment on scope and objectivesCollaborate with compliance teams to understand core payroll and tax requirementsCoordinate with go-to-market teams to communicate upcoming releases and product updatesAssist in defining release goals and supporting successful feature launchesParticipate in sprint ceremonies (standups, retros, planning, grooming)Test new features, validate acceptance criteria, and troubleshoot issues when neededSkills1–3 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or a related roleExposure to SaaS, HRIS, payroll, or financial/operations software is a plusStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to break complex problems into clear, structured requirementsBasic understanding of agile methodologiesExperience working with API driven products or integrationsFamiliarity with small business customer needsComfort with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, product analytics platforms)BenefitsEquityAnnual bonus plan401(k) with company contributionsGroup medical, dental, and vision coverageLife insuranceShort and long-term disability insuranceFlexible spending accountsCompany OverviewConnectPay empowers small businesses across America through hassle-free payroll processing.
