Product Manager I
Legrand, North America is seeking a Product Manager to join their Building Control Systems WattStopper Team. The Product Manager will support the process of releasing new products, generate product requirements, and provide technical support for customers and partners.ResponsibilitiesAssist Strategic Marketing in VOC collection through field visits, customers meetings, including dealers, agents and specifiersUses VOC data to formulate new product features and benefits, and initiates research with engineering & operations for internal and external partner product developmentMaintain and prioritize product backlog to support an appropriate product release cycleParticipate as part of Agile SW team as the product ownerEstablish and maintain a product lifecycle strategy including both new product development, product line extensions and product discontinuationSales support & training: respond to sales questions, support major launches & sales events (Trade Shows, Road Shows...), initiate & respond to training requests both internally and externallyEngage with internal UI/UX team to drive wireframe development to support product development team activitiesParticipate in creation of product bulletins & promotional campaigns with sales & marcom team, support product launchesPrepare and participate in monthly S&OP and Eng&OP meetings for designated product line, monitor usage ratesLead the long-term vision for designated software tool(s) product line, keep an eye on the market: attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needsSome travel may be required to engage with internal and external stakeholdersPerform other duties as assignedSkillsBS in Engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma, or a combination of education and 1 - 5 years of experienceMin. 1 -5 years' experience in marketing or related field. Specific building technology industry knowledge a plusDemonstrated ability to understand customer's needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customerRequires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple prioritiesMust possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of workExperience with a variety of product development processes (different forms of agile, waterfall, etc.) a significant plusStrong computer skills, proficient with Slack, JIRA, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management softwareAbility to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectivelyMust have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the informationMust be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environmentPromotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partnersMust have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
