Your focus is on delivering tangible outcomes for our customers, enabling developers to move faster and platform teams to scale more effectively. This is a hands-on, technically rich role that bridges product strategy and deep infrastructure understanding.You work closely with engineering teams to define platform behavior, build scalable abstractions, and shape workflows that empower modern development teams. You also act as a key voice for the user, ensuring that everything we ship contributes meaningfully to a better developer experience.What to expect
Product Ownership: Define and drive product direction for key parts of Upsun, with a focus on infrastructure, orchestration, and developer experience.
Solution Definition: Translate technical platform capabilities into intuitive, outcome-focused product experiences.
Technical Execution: Collaborate with engineering (especially infrastructure and systems teams) to deliver platform capabilities that are reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Align cross-functional teamsâengineering, design, marketing, support, and customer successâaround shared goals, priorities and delivery milestones.
Customer Insight: Gather feedback from internal users and external customers to guide product decisions and roadmap development.
Go-to-Market Support: Partner with our go-to-market teams on positioning, messaging, and the successful rollout of new features for our users.
What you bring
Product Management Experience: You have proven experience as a Product Manager at a software company, ideally focused on developer experience, developer platforms, PaaS or cloud infrastructure.
Platform-as-Product Mindset: Youâve successfully applied a âplatform as productâ mindset inside a larger organization, building and scaling internal developer platforms.
Technical Fluency: You understand the realities of building, deploying and running applications in the cloud, and the challenges of modern software development.
Software Development Experience: You are familiar with and have experience building applications (of any scale) with at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, Golang, or Rust.
CI/CD & Containerization: You have experience designing or using CI/CD workflows and working with Docker or OCI-compatible container technologies.
API & System Design: You are comfortable with API-based platforms and have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure complexity.
User-Centric Thinking: You lead with a user-first mindset and excel at translating technical capabilities into intuitive product experiences.
Communication & Prioritization: You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to prioritize effectively and manage competing demands.
Bonus points for
Experience using Kubernetes or building self-service platforms on Kubernetes
Familiarity with developer portals such as Backstage
Experience with distributed systems or large-scale multi-tenant architectures
Knowledge of buildpacks, deployment orchestration, or configuration-as-code
Experience scaling and working with large databases
