Product Catalog Classification & Research (1‑Month Project)

Seeking a highly detail‑oriented Data Analyst to support a short‑term (one‑month) initiative to review, classify, and standardize our full product catalog. This role will partner closely with our Product Manager to bring order, consistency, and clear structure to a catalog that spans security, hardware/software resale, cloud services, professional services, solution bundles, and internal tool offerings The deliverable: a unified, accurate, and operationally aligned classification model that assigns each product to the correct “type” and sub‑type based on standard taxonomy. The analyst will: - Audit the existing product catalog, including product metadata, category, subcategory, class, pricing attributes, and internal notes - Identify inconsistencies in product type, class, and subcategory assignments. - Research and validate product purpose, vendor details, and functional grouping (leveraging Product Hub solution listings). - Align each product to one standardized “type”, consistent with leadership direction around agreed upon standards - Work directly with our Product Manager to resolve ambiguous products or legacy categories and propose final classifications. - Document all changes and provide a clean mapping table for import or PMO review. - Flag products that may require Catalog deactivation/recreation due to class constraints In‑Scope Deliverables A complete Product Classification Workbook (Excel/Sheets) including: - Original product data - Recommended “Type” - Rationale/notes - Flags requiring PM review or Finance validation Out‑of‑Scope - Making changes in ConnectWise or ERP systems - Avalara code testing (will be handled by internal teams) - Financial modeling or pricing strategy - Product creation/deletion (recommendations only) Apply tot his job
