Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Position Purpose: Saint Alphonsus is hiring a full-time Prior Authorization Specialist to verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations for clinical and operative services, determine patient financial responsibility and communicate pertinent details to the appropriate clinic. Position Highlights and Benefits: β€’ Schedule Information: This position will be scheduled for 40 hours a week working Monday-Friday during traditional business hours. After a 3-6 week training period at the Shared Services Center in Boise, this role will be 100% remote. β€’ Day 1 Benefits for colleagues! Minimum Qualifications: β€’ High School Diploma or equivalent required. β€’ Education, training or experience as a medical coder, medical billing, Medical Assistant, Insurance or Surgical Coordinator or other relevant clinical background required. β€’ Working knowledge of CPT and ICD coding gained through experience. What You Will Do: β€’ Process information daily from clinic regarding clinical procedures, diagnostics and operative services that are ordered and/or scheduled. β€’ Assigns CPT and ICD codes as necessary for procedure to obtain authorization. β€’ Contacts insurance payer for insurance benefits and prior authorization based on payer requirements. β€’ Accurately documents authorization in patient financial record. β€’ Communicates authorization and patient financial responsibility to clinic, within 48 hours.
