Join Target as a Principal Engineer - Gen AI Security Test Architect, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security of our GenAI solutions. As a Principal Engineer, you will be a deeply technical individual contributor and a subject matter expert, tackling complex problems and implementing solutions across the enterprise. Your work will not only focus on identifying security flaws but also on driving implementable changes that improve our business processes and protect our guests' information. In this role, you will design testing approaches for GenAI products, ensuring that we identify security flaws that could impact confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information. You will conduct full-stack architecture reviews of software for GenAI products and platforms, collaborating with technical and leadership teams across Target Tech. Your expertise in information security for GenAI systems will be crucial as you assess risks and negotiate priorities with cross-domain stakeholders. You will also work closely with our data science and ML teams to develop solutions for security issues, contributing to the design of security reference architectures and implementing security controls with a focus on GenAI technologies. We are looking for someone who is not only technically proficient but also possesses excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively communicate and present your ideas. You will need to stay current on relevant AI and Cyber Engineering technologies, demonstrating a commitment to self-directed learning and cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities
• Design test approaches to GenAI products to identify security flaws, particularly those impacting confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information.

• Conduct full-stack architecture reviews of software for GenAI products and platforms.
,
• Serve as a subject matter expert on information security for GenAI systems and applications in cloud/vendor and on-prem environments.
,
• Discuss AI/ML concepts proficiently with data science and ML teams to identify and develop solutions for security issues.
,
• Design security reference architectures and implement/configure security controls with an emphasis on GenAI technologies.
,
• Assess and communicate risk accurately while negotiating priorities with cross-domain stakeholders.
,
• Collaborate with engineering teams to perform advanced security analysis on complex GenAI systems, identifying gaps and contributing to design solutions and security requirements.

Requirements
• 4-year degree OR equivalent work experience
,
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity
,
• Proficiency with AI/ML concepts and technologies
,
• Demonstrated ability (expertise preferred) in attacking GenAI products and platforms
,
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills with strong presentation abilities
,
• Good understanding of security management workflows in large enterprise organizations and complex environments
,
• Strong curiosity and ability to learn
,
• Polyglot programmer comfortable in many languages across different platforms
,
• Good understanding of the current threat landscape and the challenges that most organizations are facing.
