Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture. As a technical expert, you will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements, ensure adoption, and drive the organizational transformation in creating DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. Your expertise will focus on areas such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, security, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture
Establish and implement DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment methodologies
Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement and automation
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, making recommendations for adoption within the organization's DevOps environment
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Requirements:

Proven experience with at least 4 years of experience in DevOps data platform development, preferably in a senior or lead capacity
Experience working in cloud environments, GCP (preferred)/Azure/AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health
Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
