The Role: Principal DevOps Engineer We're on the hunt for a technically astute Principal DevOps Engineer to spearhead organizational transformation through the development of cutting-edge DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. As a Technical Senior IC, you will be instrumental in driving enterprise-wide change, ensuring the adoption of best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Lead the DevOps strategy, encompassing the design, development of tools, practices, and culture that drive organizational change. Establish and maintain DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques. Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast and reliable application deployment. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance deployment/rollback consistency and accuracy. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, making recommendations for their adoption within blithequark's DevOps ecosystem. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Required Qualifications: To excel in this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience working in open cloud environments, preferably GCP, Azure, or AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions. Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: To stand out, you should have: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health. Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices. Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
