Principal Analyst, Retail Media

We're hiring a Principal Analyst to own our retail media (RMN) coverage and contribute to our retail


This is a high-profile role with the opportunity for the right candidate to develop or maintain a significant market presence.


As Principal Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting and presenting research reports and data analysis, as well as staying on top of changing patterns in retail media network players and innovations.


You’ll be in the know about the convergence of retail and advertising, creating a reputation as a trusted, data-driven and leading edge authority on the industry–a go-to for industry leaders, clients and media reporters. You will also be responsible for working with colleagues in other markets to expand our RMN coverage globally and set the tone for our unified RMN research.


This is a role for someone with a deep understanding of the business of retail media and key metrics in this rapidly growing area. The position requires someone with the willingness and knowledge to put a stake in the ground on future predictions, trendlines and disruptors.n

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tightly structured and actionable articles, reports and presentations on retail media for our audience of ad platforms, retailers and brands, adtech/martech companies and marketers.
  • Serve as the voice for Insider Intelligence research by delivering compelling presentations at top industry conferences and webinars, representing the company in media appearances and interviews, and participating in sales calls with clients and prospects.
  • Influence industry peers through social media like LinkedIn, at major conferences, and in the media.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables are published on schedule.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with dedicated teams of researchers, forecasters, and editors, and with functional units outside the content team.
  • Create content that is essential for top decision-makers who want to reach both advertisers and consumers; informs retailers, advertisers and marketers of opportunities, challenges and disruptions; and makes sense of shifts in the customer’s path to purchase as well as the measurable KPIs advertisers are looking for to quantify success.
  • Partner with Sales to generate leads and close deals.
  • Stay on top of changing patterns in retail and advertising.


Desired Skills
  • Background in a role involving writing and analysis centered on retail and advertising (e.g., market research, data-driven journalism, consulting).
  • Hands-on experience with retail media networks whether within a retailer’s digital growth, RMN or marketing department, an agency servicing RMN clients, or a solution provider serving RMNs.
  • Experience with public speaking such as client presentations, industry events, media appearances or webinars.
  • Skilled at creating and delivering memorable, story-driven presentations.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize as assignments shift in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional writing, charting, data comparison, and analysis skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • $130-190K (dependent on skills
