The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and ETL processes, with experience in automating workflows and optimizing data models for performance and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate business-owned Excel reports into scalable Power BI dashboards, preserving logic while improving usability and performanceAnalyze and understand existing reporting logic, calculations, and data structures within Excel files and replicate them using DAX and data modelsWork closely with stakeholders to clarify metrics, definitions, and reporting expectations before implementationDevelop and maintain Power BI datasets and reports that integrate data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Excel, etc.)Design efficient data models with proper relationships, measures, and performance optimization techniquesWrite and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and troubleshooting across data warehouse tablesDemonstrate a strong understanding of data warehouse structures (fact/dimension tables) to ensure accurate reportingBuild, modify, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes, including data cleansing, transformation, and loadingHandle production support tasks such as debugging ETL failures, fixing data issues, and ensuring data consistencyConfigure and manage SQL Server Agent jobs for scheduling ETL pipelines and monitoring job executionProactively identify and resolve failures or delays in scheduled jobsSet up and manage Power BI Service components, including:Scheduled refresh configurationsOn-premises data gateways setup and troubleshootingManaging data source connections and credentialsWorkspace and dataset administrationEnsure reports and datasets refresh reliably by diagnosing and resolving gateway, credential, and connectivity issuesAutomate recurring data processing tasks (e.g., Excel data cleaning and consolidation using Python or other tools)Perform data validation and reconciliation between source systems, ETL outputs, and final reportsContinuously optimize report performance, refresh times, and data pipeline efficiencyMust-Have SkillsStrong experience in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development)Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL developmentExperience with SQL Server Agent for job scheduling and monitoringSolid understanding of data warehousing concepts (fact/dimension models)Ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing reports and ETL processesGood-to-Have SkillsExposure to Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, or Power BI integration)Experience with Python for data automation or preprocessingFamiliarity with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)Understanding of version control (Git) and deployment strategiesExperience with reporting tools like Tableau (nice to have)Knowledge of performance optimization techniques in BI toolsQualifications:Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate
