Power BI Developer / Data Analyst – Download Monitoring Dashboard

We are looking for a skilled Power BI Developer / Data Analyst to design and implement an enterprise dashboard that provides clear visibility into file download activity across the organisation. The dashboard will help security teams, operational stakeholders, and leadership understand user download behaviour, policy enforcement, and exception trends by integrating data directly from the security console through APIs.

Key Objective

Build a Power BI dashboard that enables stakeholders to monitor and analyse:

• Files downloaded by users

• Source websites from which files were downloaded

• Organisational divisions / business units involved

• Download decision status:

• Allowed

• Blocked

• Exception Requested / Approved

The dashboard should provide actionable insights into download behaviour and support governance, audit, and security decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect enterprise console / security platform data into Power BI using REST API integrations

• Design secure API data extraction pipelines for scheduled refresh

• Build data models and transformations for reporting

• Create interactive Power BI dashboards with drill-down capability

• Develop visual reports for:

• Download trends by division

• Website-wise file download patterns

• User-level download activity

• Allowed vs blocked vs exception statistics

• Implement filters by:

• Time period

• Division

• File type

• Website category

• Decision status

• Ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability

• Work with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements

• Document API integration and dashboard architecture

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Power BI

• Experience integrating external systems using REST APIs

• Good knowledge of Power Query, DAX, and data modelling

• Experience handling JSON / API response transformation

• Understanding of security or operational log data

• Ability to build executive-level dashboards with business insights

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise security consoles / proxy / download monitoring platforms

• Knowledge of Python or scripting for API data extraction

• Understanding of governance and compliance reporting

• Experience with scheduled refresh and gateway configuration
