As part of our expanding operations, we seek a skilled Portuguese-Speaking Accountant to join our team and provide financial expertise while supporting our Portuguese-speaking clients and regions.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting:Manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss accounts.Accounts Payable/Receivable:Oversee invoicing, payments, and collections processes.Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.Tax Compliance:Handle tax filings and compliance for Portuguese-speaking regions, adhering to local laws and regulations.Liaise with tax authorities and ensure timely submissions.Reporting and Analysis:Generate financial reports and forecasts to support decision-making.Conduct variance analysis to track and improve financial performance.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including property managers, to align financial strategies.Support Portuguese-speaking clients and stakeholders, addressing their accounting inquiries effectively.RequirementsEducation and Certification:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within property management or real estate sectors.Proficiency in handling multi-currency transactions and international financial standards (e.g., IFRS).Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Xero).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Language Skills:Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.Soft Skills:Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-driven.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment.Originally posted on Himalayas
