PIP Arbitration & Litigation Specialist

In this role, you won’t just be "handling cases"—you will be the primary strategist determining the defensibility of arbitrations brought against the company. You will bridge the gap between claims handling and legal defense, ensuring we fight the right battles and settle the others efficiently. Responsibilities • Critically review new arbitration filings or lawsuits to determine the strength of our position and triage cases based on legal and medical merit. • Identify "high-risk" vs. "defensible" cases early in the process to optimize resource allocation. • Act as the lead negotiator with plaintiff counsel to reach favorable resolutions before or during the arbitration process. • Partner closely withtStaff Counseltto build ironclad defense strategies and provide the necessary documentation for successful hearings. • Analyze trends in lost or indefensible arbitrations to recommend updates to ourtInternal Handling Guidelines, proactively reducing future litigation volume. • Determine when a case should be elevated from arbitration to formal lawsuit referral. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Experience: 1-2+ years auto insurance experience, PIP experience preferred • Communication: Ability to influence internal stakeholders and explain complex legal/claims logic to various departments. • Knowledge: Deep understanding of state-specific PIP statutes.
