Physical Therapist AT Evaluator
About the position
ImproveAbility is seeking a dynamic individual to perform assistive technology evaluations. This job would mostly consist of meeting with clients at their home, workplace, and/or virtually to assess their need for assistive technology in various areas such as jobsite accommodation/ergonomics, computer access for physical disabilities, assistive technology for learning disabilities, environmental controls, bathroom access, home access, patient lifts, and more. This position also includes maintaining current referral sources and finding new referral sources for our services. On the job training will be provided for technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
• Perform assistive technology evaluations
• Meet with clients at their home, workplace, and/or virtually to assess their need for assistive technology
• Assess needs in areas including jobsite accommodation/ergonomics, computer access for physical disabilities, assistive technology for learning disabilities, environmental controls, bathroom access, home access, and patient lifts
• Maintain current referral sources
• Find new referral sources for services
Requirements
• ATP certification, or test and pass for as soon as possible ATP upon hire
• General AT knowledge and understanding proper evaluation techniques
• Hyper attention to detail
• Strong report writing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in an independent working environment
• Organized and self-directed
• Strong public speaking skills
• Lifting 30 lbs on a regular basis
• Occasionally lifting over 30 lbs with assistance
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and perform tasks that require fine motor manual dexterity
• Drive throughout central Texas, and occasionally beyond
• Travel required - occasional overnight stays - depending on location and types of referrals received
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in writing quotes
• Experience in sales and customer service
• Comfort with technology and installation of equipment
• Ability to "think on your feet" and come up with innovative solutions
• Ability to integrate new processes quickly
• Participation in industry organizations and professional development is encouraged
