Pharmacy Technician - Walmart Healthcare Division

Job Summary Walmart is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our fast-paced and growing Healthcare Division. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in our customers healthcare experience by providing exceptional service, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, and supporting licensed pharmacists with critical tasks. Your role will be instrumental in delivering affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare to communities across the country. Key Responsibilities • * Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately. • * Provide excellent customer service by answering medication-related questions and assisting with over-the-counter purchases. • * Enter prescription and customer information into the pharmacy management system with accuracy and confidentiality. • * Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy work area in compliance with Walmarts safety and operational guidelines. • * Manage inventory levels, including restocking shelves, checking for expired medications, and placing pharmacy orders. • * Process insurance claims, verify coverage, and communicate with insurance providers as needed. • * Comply with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. • * Support pharmacists in compounding medications, when required. • * Assist in training new pharmacy team members and supporting onboarding processes. • * Uphold Walmarts values of respect, service, excellence, and integrity in every customer interaction. • Required Skills and Qualifications • * High school diploma or equivalent (GED). • * Current certification and registration as a Pharmacy Technician (as required by state regulations). • * Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently. • * Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy management systems. • * Excellent communication and customer service skills. • * Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow pharmacy protocols. • Experience • * Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. • * Experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is an asset. • * New graduates with certification will also be considered. • Working Hours • * Full-time and part-time positions available. • * Flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. • * Shift times may vary depending on store location and staffing needs. • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • * Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage requirements. • * Understanding of pharmacy law and medical ethics. • * Ability to interpret prescription instructions and labels. • * Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment. • * Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. • Benefits • * Competitive hourly pay with opportunities for overtime. • * Health, dental, and vision insurance. • * 401(k) plan with company match. • * Paid time off and holiday pay. • * Associate discounts across Walmart stores. • * Continuing education and career development support. • * Opportunities for advancement into pharmacist or leadership roles. • Why Join Walmart Healthcare Division?
