Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry & Billing Specialist to join our North Syracuse, NY team. Reporting directly to a supervising pharmacist, you will be the linchpin that guarantees medication orders are entered accurately, third‑party claims are billed correctly, and our partner facilities receive exceptional service. Key Responsibilities

Enter and verify medication orders for a diverse portfolio of healthcare facilities with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain up‑to‑date patient profiles, ensuring all medication histories, allergies, and dosing instructions are correctly recorded.
Process third‑party insurance claims and facility billing statements, adhering to regulatory standards and internal policies.
Provide responsive customer service and problem‑resolution support to assigned facilities, acting as the primary point of contact for any data‑related inquiries.
Collaborate with pharmacists and other clinical staff to resolve discrepancies, clarify physician orders, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Track production metrics and maintain productivity levels as established by the supervisor, while continuously seeking process‑improvement opportunities.
Occasionally travel to individual homes or facility sites for meetings, drug exchanges, or on‑site training sessions.
Assist in onboarding, orienting, and training new pharmacy technicians and other team members, sharing best practices and procedural knowledge.
Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs, staying current with industry standards, medication safety protocols, and data security requirements.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervising pharmacist or management to support the overall success of the pharmacy operations.


Qualifications
Attendance & Availability

Reliably available and punctual for scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends as operational needs dictate.
Flexibility to adapt to shifting workloads and urgent requests without compromising quality.


Educational Requirements

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field.


Experience

3‑6 months of hands‑on experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably within a hospital, long‑term care, or retail pharmacy environment.
Demonstrated familiarity with medication order entry, pharmacy billing cycles, and third‑party claim processing.


State Licensure & Certification (as applicable)

Vermont candidates: Must be registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.
New Hampshire candidates: Must be registered with the State of New Hampshire as a Pharmacy Technician.
Ohio candidates: Must be registered with the State of Ohio as a Pharmacy Technician.
All other candidates must be eligible to obtain the required state registration within 60 days of hire, if not already certified.
