About the Role:
The Pharmacy Communication Technician (PCT) assists the Pharmacist by adding and updating patient information to the pharmacy’s files. The PCT must be detailed oriented to keep prescription and patient information on the appropriate platforms. Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Receives inbound calls from providers and patientsAnswers questions in a professional and accurate mannerForwards calls and work to the appropriate departmentsInputs information about patient prescriptions into record-keeping programsEnsures all records are accurate and collaborates with pharmacist to ensure all information is correctSpot checks for errors and discrepancies in data and follow procedure to investigate and correct informationPerforms duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx , including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes in work situations with clients, peers, and visitorsMaintains client and associate confidentialityResponsible for understanding all applicable policies and procedures of the department necessary to perform essential job functions as well as the employee handbookPerforms other duties as assigned Skills/Abilities:Detail oriented and proven accuracy Efficient and accurate typing skillsAptitude to develop partnerships with teams within the department and across the companyAbility to use multiple software programs to review patient profiles and process medication ordersEnters and retrieves data from the various operating systems employed for prescription processing, drug ordering and packagingHigh degree of interpersonal and organizational skillsProficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required Certificates/Licenses/Registration:Pharmacy Technician Certification requiredIndiana and Pennsylvania State Pharmacy Technician license required Physical Requirements:Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to a home office environment. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
