Performance Engineer - Digital Services

The Digital Services Performance Engineer will be responsible for optimizing building performance by analyzing data and making informed recommendations to improve energy efficiency and operational reliability.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand components and operation methods of Air Handling Units, Water and Air-cooled Chillers, Cooling Towers, Boilers, Pumps, and Air/Water Distribution systems. Including physical and programmed componentsIdentify faults and root cause to suggest control changes to improve building operational and energy efficiencyCompile customer facing reports and list of action items for operational improvementsEstimate energy and operational cost savings associated with identified faults and/or operational improvementsStudy customer building management system (BMS) and mechanical design documents to select data points for analysis and to understand the existing operational intentSelect rules to be applied for FDD, considering the relationship and interdependency of multiple building systems and their equipmentDevelop project structure and equipment parent/child relationshipsLead customer report presentations via Teams (video & screen share)Skills1+ year of energy management or HVAC systems / controls design experienceMust be able to demonstrate an understanding of rule-based analyticsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural EngineeringEffective communication skills to speak with building engineers, maintenance personnel, and/or C-level executivesUp to 5% required travelLegally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipEngineering in Training (EIT) certificationKnowledge of facility and maintenance operations, maintenance best practices, and HVAC energy efficiency measuresFamiliarity with HVAC system and building controlsKnowledge of common HVAC and electrical building codesAbility to read and understand design documentation (drawings, sequences of operation, schedules etc.)Able to adjust communication style to work with a variety of roles and interested partiesEnthusiasm to learn new skills and softwareAdvanced time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, high level of proficiency in Microsoft ExcelCompany OverviewSiemens empowers customers to transform the industries that form the backbone of economies: industry, transportation, buildings and grids.
