Per Diem Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Mixlab, the fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is hiring a Compounding Pharmacy Technician in our Los Angeles pharmacy. We are looking for a Technician who is obsessed with details and is driven by an ability to #makeithappen for our customers and their furry (and scaly!) friends no matter what. You will be an integral part in helping us to ensure our LA operations run smoothly, and to make Mixlab a 100% dependable resource for our customers and veterinarians alike.Must be available to work Tuesday and Wednesday at minimum, hourly role at $22-$23 per hour. Responsibilities: Assist with the compounding of nonsterile pharmaceutical preparations including but not limited to capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, otic preparations, and medicated treats under the supervision of the managing pharmacist. Please note: Hormones and other potentially hazardous chemicals are used in nonsterile compoundingConsistently meet standards of accuracy and potencyPackage and label prescriptions, including bulk medicationsMonitor inventory levels, re-order low inventory or expiring chemicals, and receive new inventoryAdhere to USP guidelines as related to non-sterile compoundingPerform environmental monitoring and cleaning tasks as indicated in SOPsAssist team members and problem solve with pharmacist’s support About You: You have at least 2 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician directly with pharmacists in a compounding pharmacyYou have experience working in veterinary care or the medical field, or a strong interest in working in the fieldYou have a customer-focused (and in our case, a pet-focused!) mindsetYou thrive in a fast-paced work environmentMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to move boxes holding medications weighing up to 25lbs across the officeYou have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - and are a collaborative, team-playerYou have an all-hands-on-deck attitude with an ability to remain calm and excel under pressureYou have the ability to learn and adapt to new processes and proceduresYou constantly strive to “wow” clients and patientsYou have a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityYou are scrappy and resourcefulYou’re not afraid of wearing multiple hats - you pitch in to help the team when necessaryYou have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidaysMUST LOVE PETS and their people!
