People & Talent Generalist

About the position

The People and Talent Generalist will play a key role in supporting and implementing HR policies and programs across multiple areas, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate possesses a broad HR background and is passionate about creating positive employee experience. This position interacts with many individuals at a variety of levels within and external to the organization and displays the ability to coach and advise leaders and team members.

Responsibilities
• Complete tasks to support requisitions, job postings, onboarding, change of status, performance, benefits and leaves, training and development, employee relations, recruiting and separation.

• Serve as first point of contact for HR related questions from all Team members.
,
• Support conflict resolution and provide guidance on handling sensitive employment matters.
,
• Provide performance management support with leaders.
,
• Coordinate training and development efforts to enhance skills and capabilities.
,
• Assist with interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
,
• Coordinate candidate or new hire travel.
,
• Perform administrative work related to recruiting and onboarding.
,
• Plan and participate in employee engagement activities to build a positive work culture.
,
• Conduct employee surveys and recommend initiatives to improve morale, retention, and productivity.
,
• Maintain relevant documents and information on HR SharePoint, update guidelines, processes and procedure documentation for employee programs, events, and activities for both departmental and public audiences.
,
• Meet with onboarding and separating individuals as required. May meet with employees for routine benefits questions.
,
• Create e-files and personnel files as well as employee folders for onboarding and separation. Files documents appropriately.
,
• Generate basic reports from various systems on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
,
• Assist the Senior Leadership on the People and Talent team with various projects.
,
• Support in all People & Talent administrative tasks including setting up trainings for learning and development, assisting the IT department with coordinating their trainings, coordinating lunches, and reserving the board room for events, supporting communicating around our DICE initiatives.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
,
• 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role
,
• 1+ years of recruiting experience preferred
,
• Strong understanding of HR practices and labor laws
,
• Experience working with Paylocity or another HCM system is required
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
,
• Strong verbal and written communication combined with organizational skills
,
• Negotiation and influencing skills.
